Now that my job is nearly over it is time to think about where to travel. After a number of family issues and other difficulties, it is time to finally relax, renew and refresh. Where to go? We would love to travel to Scotland and explore Scotch distilleries but oh that volcanic ash may make that an impossibility. We could get stuck trying to get there or back, not a welcome thought. Italy is the same, not sure that I want to be left trying to work my way back or there.
That leaves us travelling west and there are possibilities: San Francisco would be nice at any time of year and if we add Mendocino, home of that great sleuth Jessica Fletcher-lovely. Then back to the Napa Valley might even take the train. Follow up with a quick trip to Monterrey to the aquarium and sites in the area.
If the far west coast does not work out, might be time to take that trip around the great lakes and there are a number of towns and cities to visit on the way.
Will think on this and make a decision soon.

Che ce'di nuovo: from our Italian classes-what's new. I hope to write about what's new in my life and also what I find of interest that is new. Will be interesting to explore the everyday and look at it with new eyes.

- Despite the fact that I have been playing the bassoon since I was 13 years old, there are people who will be surprised by the name Bassoon Woman. Some of these people would be my tennis partners who only know me as an eager opponent on the tennis court. I am living proof that you can get better as you as age. At least, I think that I am playing better (they accepted me on one of the club teams last year.) Members of the garden club where I attend sessions designing florelle centre pieces, are always surprised to see me at performances. My next performance is at Colborne Lodge in High Park, we are playing a return engagement celebrating spring on March 20. Hopefully, it will be springlike. These are just a few of the activities that occupy my time. After 30 years of teaching fulltime, I now work part-time teaching music in a high school. Wonderful experience. I am looking forward to exploring the many experiences fill my days. noramr2@gmail.com
